O'Mara Travel was founded in 1978 and is one of Ireland's leading specialist travel companies.

O'Mara Travel is a member of ITAA (Irish Travel Agent's Association), IATA and ASTA and are fully licensed and bonded in accordance with all current legislative requirements. O’Mara Travel is also a member of the Dublin Chamber of Commerce.

O'Mara Travel operates as a fully licensed outbound travel agent and has been General Sales Agent in Ireland for over twenty five years for Club Med, the most inclusive luxury experience for families, couples and singles with over 100 sun and ski destinations worldwide. Over recent years O'Mara Travel has also partnered Amadeus Waterways and has become River Cruise specialists offering an exciting programme throughout Europe and Russia.

O’Mara Travel operated a very successful Incoming Tours Division up to February 2007
when this division merged with Abbey Tours and can now be contacted at incoming@abbey.ie.

O'Mara Travel is based in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin, Ireland.

Eoghan O'Mara Walsh

Eoghan O'Mara Walsh

Managing Director
Eoghan joined the company in 2001 after 3 years working with Diageo. He is a graduate of the Sorbonne, Paris and Trinity College, Dublin and is managing director of the company. Eoghan is a director of Heritage Island, a marketing consortium representing the leading visitor attractions in Ireland, and also sat on the board of the Irish Tour Operators Association up to February 2007. Eoghan is Chairperson of War Child Ireland, a child protection agency which works in DRC, Afghanistan and Iraq.


Eileen O'Mara Walsh

Chairperson
Eileen founded the company in 1978. She has had a range of industry and government appointments including: Chairperson of Great Southern Hotels, Director of Aer Lingus, Chairperson of Forbairt, President of Incoming Tour Operators Association and President of the Irish chapter of ASTA. Eileen also founded the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation of which she is still a member. Eileen is a director and cofounder of the marketing group Heritage Island, and is currently a board member of Opera Ireland and St Patrick's Hospital Dublin.

John Healy

Director
John is a director of O’Mara Travel and has managed the transition of O’Mara Travel’s Incoming division to Abbey Tours where he has also become a board member. John is formerly General Manager of CIE Tours International, Ireland's largest incoming tour operator, and has held office as Chairman of the US section of OTMI (Overseas Tourism Marketing Initiative) a joint industry and government body established to promote Ireland as a holiday destination overseas. He is also a member of SITE.


Fiona Herald

Marketing Manager

Fiona joined the team in O’Mara Travel in December 2002. A graduate of the University of Ulster, Fiona has a BA Hons degree in Business Studies and a Masters in Tourism Management. She has previously managed Heritage Island, a marketing consortium representing the leading visitor attractions in Ireland, and has also worked with the TSB/First Trust Bank, Greater Boston Convention & Visitors Bureau, Dublin Tourism and MERTA.
